Biography:
The young actress hopes to make a name for herself in the Big Brother house
Rachel is a familiar face in her home town of Cwmbran as a participant in beauty contests, carnivals and similar events.
As a child actress she appeared in around twenty TV commercials, and in 1992 won her first film role in Night Train to Venice alongside Hugh Grant.
In 2003 Rachel came second runner-up in the Miss Wales Beauty Pageant and won Wales On Sunday newspaper's Welsh Idol competition in 2004.
Lately she has been working as a trainee teacher but will be hoping to make her big break with Big Brother.
Rachel is the second person from Cwmbran to enter the Big Brother house - hairdresser Helen Adams remains one of the programme's most popular ever housemates after being runner-up in the second series in 2001.
Rachel has already been tipped as a possible winner of this year's contest by The Guardian newspaper.
